Prof. Aonghus McNabola
Trinity College Dublin

  • Aonghus McNabola is a Professor in Energy and the Environment at the Dept of Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering. His research interests lie in the field of Environmental Fluid Dynamics where he has applied this expertise in air pollution, energy efficiency and/or water services sectors. He has been active in this field of research for over 15 years. Prof. McNabola teaches at postgraduate and undergraduate levels in the subject areas of hydraulics, air pollution and renewable energy. He holds a qualification in teaching and learning at third level and has been involved in teaching activities in Italy and India.

Prof. Padraig Carmody
Trinity College Dublin

  • Pádraig Carmody is Professor in Geography at Trinity College, the University of Dublin where he did his undergraduate and masters work and is a Senior Research Associate at the University of Johannesburg. His Ph.D. is from the University of Minnesota in the US, where after graduation he also taught at the University of Vermont. At TCD he directs the Masters in Development Practice and CHARM-EU. His research centres on the political economy of globalisation in Africa and he has published in journals such as European Journal of Development Research, Review of African Political Economy, Economic Geography and World Development.

Ms. Mangiza Chirwa Chongo

  • Mangiza Chirwa Chongo is a project manager for Healthy Food Africa project in Lusaka, Zambia, and currently manages multi-actor food labs and oversees food lab initiatives engaging with the informal sector in food policy planning processes. She has a master’s degree in public policy from the National University of Singapore (2010) and a bachelor’s degree in development studies from the University of Zambia (2004). Ms. Chongo is experienced in local economic development, monitoring and evaluation, agri-business development, gender, issues, and results-based management. She has more than 15 years’ experience in project management of donor-funded projects (USAID, SIDA, UNHABITAT, FAO, government projects) in various sectors including governance, gender and food security.

Prof. Paul Coughlan
Trinity College Dublin

  • Paul Coughlan is Professor in Operations Management at Trinity Business School, Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. His research explores collaborative strategic improvement of operations through network action learning. His fellow researchers are in different domains and in practice, both nationally and internationally. He has contributed actively to EU-funded research projects exploring environmental sustainability of water distribution, manufacturing improvement, and innovation in food.

Dr. Madhu Krishna Murali
Trinity College Dublin

  • Madhu is an experienced water researcher at Trinity College Dublin specializing in the fields of heat recovery, wastewater treatment, and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). He has spent a significant amount of time doing field work during his positions in the water industry and his research positions. Having previously worked on both pilot wastewater heat recovery systems in the field and modelling wastewater heat recovery, Madhu brings significant technical skills to the Reheatz project. He will work on the technical aspects of the project including assessments of the heating resource available, participating in the co-design of heat recovery systems, and in developing pilot heat recovery systems.

Eleanor Mancusi-Ungaro
Trinity College Dublin

  • Eleanor is a recent graduate of the Trinity College Dublin MSc in Energy Science, where she studied renewable energy technologies, their applications, and their implications in the fields of business and policy. She has a personal interest in renewable energy technologies as a driver for social change and in addition to her analytical work, Eleanor will be researching ways REHEATZ can work with Zambian businesses and government to improve economic opportunities for women.

Mr. Derrick Bwalya

  • Derrick Bwalya holds a Master of science in Geography and Environmental Studies from the University of Zambia. His research interests are in the field of global warming and climate change, conservation agriculture and food security, population, environmental and natural resources management. He has more than 8 years of experience in the field of research. He has over the years worked on a number of research projects in Zambia where he immensely contributed to the success of the projects. His vast experience and knowledge in research projects will be invaluable to REHEATZ project in Zambia.
